Description

The K&N AirCharger 63-9033 air intake system replaces the restrictive factory air filter and air intake housing in some Toyota Tundra models. K&N intakes are designed to dramatically reduce intake restriction as they smooth and straighten air flow. This allows your Tundra’s engine to inhale a larger amount of air than the factory air filter assembly. More air means more usable power and acceleration throughout the engine’s RPM range. The 63-9033 air intake comes with a chrome topped K&N high-flow air filter and a heat shield that installs into the previous air box space. The placement allows air to be directed through a custom molded intake tube into the engine’s throttle body for a guaranteed power gain. The oversized air filter can be used for up to 100,000 miles before servicing is needed depending on driving conditions. This air intake is relatively easy to install requiring only a couple of screwdriver, socket set and several wrenches. This air intake cannot be sold in California. It is not legal for use in California or other states adopting California emission standards.

There are two problems with your OEM air induction system that cause restriction and reduce airflow. First, airflow is restricted by the size of the filter in the factory airbox. Even a replacement performance air filter can only flow so much when its size is limited. Second, the air path from the filter to the throttle body can be restricted by the OEM intake tube. Together, these two areas of restriction combine to reduce airflow and rob horsepower from your engine.

Luckily, these problems are easily solved with a K&N 63 Series Aircharger Intake Kit. K&N starts by replacing the restrictive airbox and small air filter with the largest size conical shaped high flow K&N air filter that will fit in the engine compartment. The great increase in filter area over stock vastly improves airflow and the capacity to capture and hold dirt. Then K&N replaces the OEM intake tube with a precision designed, rotationally molded tube made from interlaced high density Polyethylene. This tube eliminates air path restrictions to the engine and reduces air intake temperature when compared to similar metal tubes. Intake air temperature is further reduced by a heat shield that isolates the filter from the engine compartment. The reduction in air intake temperatures results in a cooler, denser air intake charge and even more horsepower. All components are mounted and connected with high quality materials such as steel, aluminum, silicon or reinforced nylon, to ensure long life.

K&N uses a dynamometer to design its air intake kits to make the most horsepower possible. But their power figures aren’t based on just one vehicle, but rather an average of runs by a number of vehicles. This means repeatable numbers and horsepower claims you can count on.
